One question 🙋‍♀️ as I’m very very new to oil pastels , I will want to frame them up ,I know if I put them into a boxed frame the glass won’t touch them ,however if I use the fixative spray should they be ok touching the glass ? “You will not, not improve.” I’d say that is correct because it’s a double negative, so it means you will improve! Loved this “conversation!” If we all liked the same things wouldn’t the world be a boring place! I never seem to be happy with what I paint, but I keep doing it because I just love the simple act of putting the paint on the page. I just LOVE color! I wish I could paint like other people whose work I admire, but I’m 66 and realize that I am who I am. Sometimes I like my work, and other times I don’t. I wish I was more OK with this earlier in my life, maybe I would have had a career instead of just a hobby. I’m so glad I found your channel, but I wish I could see, and hear your process as you paint a picture. Also, after watching more of this video, I must say that I absolutely love plying with acrylic inks. I took a couple of classes by Missy Dunaway on Creative Bug, and fell in love with them! She uses more intense colors than you were swatching, but does some amazing work. It’s actually nice to see some earthier colors I could buy. I keep buying and buying, I need to get back to work! That paper looks great, too!

We used to paint on glass with oils, but put the paper on top, then put pressure on it from the paper's side. It might work a bit easier...love your video. Always inspirational ❤

Hi Sandi, Your art and videos are so enjoyable. I'm learning so much from you and your approach to art. Your peaceful and kind manner is also refreshing. Please keep going and know that your spreading joy. I saw your video in which you show us Cooper and talk about his illness over the night. Our dog, Bravo, is almost 13 and has had difficulty getting up and climbing stairs. Several months ago, our vet recommended a shot called "Librela" for Bravo's arthritis pain. The vaccine is a "miracle". Bravo is able to get up, climb stairs and go fo a walk. Bravo takes NO painkillers either. Librela is a monthly vaccine and it has extended our boys life.

I discovered your channel recently, and I have been enjoying watching you paint and chat since then. You inspired me to get my watercolor paints out, even to get more crayons and sketch books, art materials are never too much. I was such a big fan of Charles Reid who had a big influence on my watercolor painting, he is missed.

I absolutely love your flower paintings! I can only dream of painting as loose as you do. Do you have any videos that take you through the process of making one of your paintings? I would love to see one. And I can’t seem to find anything on your background, ie., what area you live in, how long you’ve been painting, do you have any schooling, when did you start selling paintings and how?

oh I am so glad you liked Mountain Brooke. My son lives and works in Bham not far from there. It is a wonderful little area.

I spent the day before yesterday swatching out my colored pencils and artgraf graphite colors to take to the lake. I was so happy because I packed light only to realize when I got there that I left my journals at home which was 45 minutes away. I ended up doing one painting on the bag my sub sanwhich came in. It still turned out okay!

If you need something that will not harm you and help your allergies, see if you can find some stinging nettle. It is a natural antihistamine. You can put it in a tea for or you can eat it cooked. Sandi, I love you so much and I've been following you for a while as a silent subscriber. However eating that tiny little wing of a stingray is just beyond my understanding. Why? I really don't understand people who are so evolved on some level that they could see the beauty in life like you do and yet not recognize the sentient beauty of these creatures that we dominate.😔
